2 Days at Sea...

...was relaxing.  We went through glaciar bay.  Again it was cloudy then got clear, as we headed out of the bay it started to rain.  On Friday we went through College Fjords.  On Friday we went to cooking show and had a tour of the galley.  It was 1 of the 7 and the smallest of them all.

In Skagway...

...is by far my favorite place.  About 400 people during the winter months and 1400 during the summer.  What did we do...ummm we went ziplining, if that's a word.  It was an adventure park and zip line.  After we went on a bus trip to Klondike summit near the Yukon trail.  The zip line was fun, but again I was fearful of the cables.  A 300lb guy in a harness, being held up by (2) 1/2" cables that claim to hold 10,000lbs, whatever...  The bus trip was cool going up, BEAUTIFUL!!!  Coming down not so much, the clouds moved down the mountain and covered the roadway.  The driver was going down the mountain at like 100MPH, but he was a pro.  He and his wife come up to Skagway every year to work.  They live in LA.  It was interesting talking to everyone and learning that none live in Alaska.  We were finally able to talk to someone who was a local.  We went to dinner in-town at the local brewery.  It was good.  Notice the picture of the Red Onion...it really leans by 2'...COOL.  After dinner we back to ship and it was pouring, we had to take our own pic.  I really like it here, when we move it would be here.  LOL

In Juneau...

...again RAIN...man let it go already.  Today was bike and brew day.  The rain let up for a while then was persistent mist for about 1/2 the ride then rain for the last 1/4.  It was tiring but fun.  After that we went on Tram that went up a gazillion feet.  I was scared to death going up...did i mention the 30mph winds.  Coming down was better, but still scary, for me at least.  Jessie was laughing at me.  We had a score...A Black Bear.  When were walking to the glacier there was a bear next to river.  It was walking along the river bed, looked at us and kept going.  It was awesome...I did get video of it as well.  In the end we were wet and cold.  we went back to ship had dinner, saw a comedian juggler and went to bed.  We were BEAT.  Skagway tomorrow...

In Ketechican…

…a little rainy and a chill in the air.  We picked our bus at the dock it took us about 20 minutes up a hill.  We got off and walked down 79 steps to restaurant/lodge and dock.  We got on boat and went…ummm…well somewhere.  We stopped at an old salmon cannery; saw an eagle’s nest then went to the crab traps.  I volunteered to pull up one of crab traps which were 60’ down.  It was cool!!  We pulled up 2 of them, they told us how they breathe and eat.  The tour guide was good, gave us a lot of history of that area and Alaska.  We made it back to the dock and went to the restaurant.  All you can eat crabs…yumm—o.  They were delicious and they had cheese cake with blueberries.  The bad…we had to walk up the 79 steps to get the bus…blaaaa.  We went back to town stopped in a shop and then got back on the ship.

Update on Sunday evening…

…so yeah the formal night was not so good.  Jessie remained sick and stayed in room all night.  She had toast and tea dinner.  I went down and had dinner, came up and checked on her then went down to the show.  When I came back up Jessie was…well…feeling MUCH better.  She was hungry but was afraid to eat anything.  Good, because we have a boat trip on Monday with AYCE crabs…mmmm

Today is a day at sea...

...and the SEA dosen't want us.  Water is rough and winds are 20mph upto gail force (what ever that means).  People getting sick all over the place.  For those that went on the cruise out of Baltimore and we hit the hurricane...the bags everywhere in the halls...10x's that bad.  A lot of signs that read "this area has been sanitized" hmmm i wonder why.  LOL.  Well Jessie got sick too, but in the bathroom in the room.  I was feeling qwezzie (don't know how to spell that), but never got sick.  Infact I was able to hold some Sushi and pizza.  Been in the room most of the day.  Things are suppose to calm down soon, hopefully.  It formal night tonight, not sure how successfully that will be...on a high note I was able to watch football starting at 10am and 1pm and it was on the pools big screen...well its 4:30 and dinner is at 6, gotta get Jessie going.  More to come...

Yesterday Travel from Seattle to...

...Vancouver was HORRIBLE.  We went to the airport at 8am and they said it was only 25-30 of us so the bus would not be here till 10:30 or 11am.  We set up shop in the airport, looking over the directions for the camera and playing on the computer.  We get on the bus and 3 1/2 hours later we are in vancouver.  The driver was good until we got to the city of Vancouver then Mr Mike Quirk was driving, Going on red lights and stopping on greens.  When the light turned red, he waited until the last minute to stop.  ARRRGGGHHH!!!   We get through security and get our room about 4pm.  We were suppose to leave at 4:45 and didnt until 5:30  Crazy!!!  Overly tired and stressed, we couldn't find anything. Jessie got a massgae last night and I got a 2x's shave and facial, and then passed out on the bed...  Pics are little hard to upload from the ship as the internet is slow and EXPENSIVE...  I will try on Monday when we get on land.

#1...Anticipation!!!

And so it begins...We have 8 days left until the adventure begins.  This is my first post and hopefully at least 20 more to come.  So what are we doing??  Well it's my hope to post a pic or video or both of something that we did on our trip.  The good thing is that we will be 4 hours behind most of the people who read this.  So you will be a day behind.  Over the next 8 days I will try to give you some details of our planning.  Then provide you with the final details...  I hope everyone will enjoy our posts, as we embark on our Alaskan Adventure that one man hopes will continue and one women just hopes to come home!!!
